VisionCheck 2 app

The VisionCheck 2 app features a very accurate and reliable method to do the test your glasses, according to data from publications from companies with specialists in vision testing.

The tool is guaranteed to provide important and necessary information to create a new pairing.

According to the company's corporate vice president of marketing: “We launched our first smartphone-based home refractometer in October 2016 and have announced several award-winning products since then.”

“Now, our next generation has been completely revamped to make faster and easier testing”.

Still according to her, the application was developed over the last two years, based on feedback from members, with which around 150 thousand tests were carried out with the technology.

She adds: “We designed it for you with an entirely new format, app design and test screens. A good user experience, which means more people can get results faster, easier and more accurately.”

Experts in the field are quite optimistic about the gadget.

How does the application work?

the app VisionCheck 2, developed by EyeQue, can be used via a smartphone.

So, when the user opens the application, it will measure the diopter error and pupil distance.

This is the first step to making a vision test and define the degree of glasses.

Then, the user must use some buttons on the screen to increase or decrease the zoom of the yellow line.

With this, the app's algorithm will calculate the refractive error based on the amount of movement.

After three consistent tests, you will be able to view the numbers in the app.

Using this data, the user will be able to look for an optician to change the prescription of their glasses.

To improve, the company EyeQue also sells glasses at affordable prices through its website, where the customer can confirm that all the data is correct before placing the order.

The app does not eliminate an ophthalmologist

The EyeQue company executive highlights that the application does not replace a Ophthalmologist, the user will still need to consult a specialist doctor periodically.

Even though the app is efficient when it comes to test the prescription of glasses, it is essential that consultations with the eye doctor are carried out regularly.

It is exactly these consultations, reinforced Yu, that bring the possibility of identifying eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration, factors that are not identified through the app VisionCheck 2.

The application, which was presented at CES 2021, had gone on pre-sale through the crowdfunding website Kickstarter, with a value of US$ 65, which is equivalent to around R$ 342.

Currently, the app VisionCheck 2 can be downloaded to systems iOS and android.
